The residential development at 1100 West Grand Avenue in West Town has begun construction, and it also has a new name. Aberdeen Crossing is a seven-story, 99-unit apartment building from Wildwood Investments. Designed by bKL Architecture, the project includes just over 1,700 square feet of retail space and parking for 28 cars.
Contemporary Concepts is the general contractor on the build. They have just gotten started on caisson work. Nothing has been drilled yet, but rebar cages have been rolled and there’s a Stalworth Underground rig on site to move things around. It’s safe to assume they’ll have their caisson rig there any day now.
Aberdeen Crossing will be located just north of the Metra tracks that separate West Town from the booming Fulton Market District. Residents will find stops for the CTA’s Route 65 bus located right outside their door. They can use that bus to connect to the Grand Blue Line subway station just under half a mile to the east. Routes 8 and 56 buses are also available at the same junction of Grand/Milwaukee/Halsted.

This is a “by-right” project and therefore has no affordable units required. Also there is 1726 SF of retail.
Fixed. Thank you.
