The residential development at 3914 North Lincoln Avenue has reached its ultimate height, as crews work on framing the set-back fifth and final floor of the North Center apartment project. Developer and general contractor Longford Design + Construction is delivering 68 rental units at this location, supported by ground-floor retail and 28 parking spaces. A significant amount of the brickwork has been completed; the next milestone should be installation of the first few windows on the exterior.

The unique wedge-shaped lot means there won’t be a “rear” of this building. The V-shaped structure, designed by SPACE Architects + Planners, will front both Damen Avenue and Lincoln Avenue, with the retail spaces along both streets. Seven of the 68 units, mostly two-bedroom floor plans, will be set aside as on-site affordable, with the seven additional required units located off site. The building will include storage for 78 bicycles, with the garage accessible from both Damen Avenue and Byron Street. Longford plans to have 3914 North Lincoln open to residents next year.

Residents of 3914 N Lincoln Ave will be within a one-block walk of CTA bus service via Routes 50 and 80. The Irving Park Brown Line platform is about three blocks away to the east.
