Construction progress at 3951 North Wayne Avenue in Lake View has graduated to walls and bricks. The apartment building that replaces a now-demolished Burger King restaurant got started back in April, on its way to delivering 31 new rental units to the north end of the Wrigleyville neighborhood.
Designed by Axios Architects for developer/general contractor Vivify Construction, the four-story rental development got its new construction permit on March 25 of this year. And on June 10, a permit revision was issued to add a pair of rooftop decks and a pergola atop the detached single-story, 31-space parking garage. The residential building will also feature a deck on its rooftop.
Like the demolished Burger King that previously occupied this site, 3951 North Wayne will likely have an Irving Park Road mailing address when completed. Residents here will be within one block’s walk for Route 9, X9, 22, and 80 bus stops. The 80 bus can be used to go east to the Sheridan Red Line platform or west to the Irving Park Brown Line platforms, each about half a mile away.

Too bad they couldn’t have saved the stink of the Burger King. It really became a part of the neighborhood.
The brickwork is much better than I thought it would be
Love to see it!
