Roosevelt Square Phase 3B, a 67-unit apartment building from the Chicago Housing Authority and Related Midwest, has topped out in the Little Italy neighborhood. Located at 1002 S Racine Avenue, the six-story building has its windows in place and is now awaiting the start of exterior cladding.
Designed by the teamwork of Moody Nolan and Landon Bone Baker, the development will deliver 50 market-rate apartments and 17 CHA units upon its completion. 33 outdoor parking spaces are included, as well as ~10,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space. Bowa Construction is the general contractor on the project. They received a permit to begin construction from the City of Chicago on December 23, 2022.
Residents of this phase of Roosevelt Square will have a stop for Routes 60 and 157 buses at the corner of Racine and Taylor. The 9 and 9 Express buses stop about five blocks to the west. The 8 bus is a little more than half a mile east. The nearest L station is the Polk Pink Line station about a mile northwest.
