Permits have been approved for a new five-story building at 6112 South Drexel Avenue in Woodlawn. The project, which was approved on February 28, has a budget of $5,000,000.
Plans were designed by architect John Hanna. When complete, the structure will house 24 dwelling units and a first-floor office space. In addition, the project’s design includes plans for a nine-car garage on the first floor, supplemented by three additional exterior parking spaces on a concrete pad. Residents will enjoy outdoor amenities such as a rooftop deck and rear balconies on the second through fifth floors.
The project is being developed by Graham Properties 4 LLC and construction will be handled by 5 Seasons Development Company Inc. B&K Concrete and R D Y Construction will handle masonry work.
When complete, 6112 South Drexel Avenue will be located steps from stops for the X4, 4, and 59 bus lines. Beyond that, the Cottage Grove CTA Station, which services the Green Line, is a 7 minute walk to the south of the property.
