Construction permits have been issued for a two-story residential building at 4041 S Prairie Avenue, located in Bronzeville. The Owner, listed under St 98 Holdings LLC, is planning two units within the project, as well as a basement, rear wood deck and stairs, and a two-car garage. The site is currently occupied by an empty lot, though its exact boundaries could not be discerned.
Charles E. Schwartz is listed as the project architect. While no renderings have yet been revealed, the filing description has indicated that both the main structure and the garage will be frame.
The development will lie just across the street from Poplar Park, and is also within walking distance of larger outdoor spaces like the Metcalfe (Ralph) Park and the Pendleton (Hadiya) Park.
For nearby public transportation, Route 39 bus can be found at Indiana & 41st Street, located a three-minute walk southwest. Route 3 is also available in the vicinity, with stops at King Drive & 41st Street a four-minute walk southeast. Nearest CTA L access, meanwhile, includes the Green Line’s Indiana station, less than a three-minute walk northwest.
C & S General Contractors, Inc. is serving as the general contractor for the $350,000 construction project. A timeline has not yet been revealed.
