Construction permits have been issued for a new six-story residential building at 835 W Addison Street in Lake View East. The project, managed by Over the Rainbow Association, was approved on December 12, 2023.
This development will contain 37 dwelling units, and its ground floor will house a community room and provide 10 on-site vehicle parking spaces. Architect Dennis Langley of Weese Langley Weese is listed as the architect of record on the construction permits.
General construction for 835 W Addison Street is being overseen by Powers & Sons Construction. Masonry work will be jointly handled by F.H. Paschen and SN Nielsen, and Powers & Sons Construction. The project’s estimated budged is $12,172,873.
When complete, residents of 835 W Addison Street will be located steps from bus stops for Routes 8 and 152. Beyond that, the Addison CTA station, which services the Red Line, will be located a three-minute walk to the west of the property.

Indeed. It’s weird to say but I think I prefer the architecture of this church more than what’s proposed for replacing it. But it’s always good to get rid of a parking lot in the middle of a great walkable neighborhood.
