A construction permit has been issued for a new two-story meat processing facility and retail butcher shop at 4521 W Roosevelt Road in the North Lawndale neighborhood. Peoria Packaging Roosevelt Property, LLC owns the development.
The architect is Angelo Stamatoukos, though no exterior renderings or design details are available. The permit filing mentioned programming components like a meat processing area, refrigeration systems, and retail space.
Roosevelt Road offers several CTA and Pace buses within a short walk, the closest of which is Routes 12 at the adjacent intersection of Roosevelt & Kilbourn. The CTA Blue Line is accessible at Cicero station via a 15-minute walk northwest.
Epic – Architecture Construct is the general contractor for the $700,000 project. A completion date has not been announced yet.

This is a sizable lot, but $700,000 wouldn’t pay for a very large building. I’d be curious to know how much of the lot is going to be actually used.
