Structural work has progressed to the fifth level at 812 W Adams Street in West Loop, where a new seven-story mixed-use development by Luxe Suites Chicago is under construction. Upon completion, the development will feature 80 for-rent apartments and 4,200 square feet of retail, replacing the three low-rise buildings that previously occupied the southernmost part of the block.
Axios Architects and Consultants have designed the new building, which involves a multi-shade masonry cladding, bay window protrusions, and private glass and metal cantilevered balconies.
There will be 27 parking spots available on-site, as well as multiple public options nearby. The closest bus service is one block away and offers Routes 8 and 20 buses. Also seven minutes south from the building lies UIC-Halsted station for CTA Blue Line transit, 14 minutes northwest to Morgan station for a Green or Pink Line service.
Structures Construction LLC has been appointed as the general contractor for the project, yet a full construction timeline has yet to be revealed. Completion appears possible in the latter half of 2023.

Where’s the rest of the building fronting Adams?
Someone in this city with a voice that matters between developers to architects to structural engineers to elected officials needs to start asking if this is really the best we can do. The Committee on Design is absolutely worthless and aren’t elevating standards as much as they are nitpicking to encourage changes they personally prefer. This belongs in Mt. Prospect.
