A new permit has been issued for the construction of a two-story residential building located at 6312 South Champlain Avenue in the Woodlawn neighborhood. The property has a zoning of RT-4 allowing for two-flats, townhouses, low-density apartment buildings, and single-family homes. The permit’s owners have been listed as Hej Enterprises and plans indicate this will be a two-flat construction with three dwelling units and a finished basement. The building will have rear decks on all levels and three parking spaces on a concrete pad. The construction will replace a vacant lot.
John C Hanna is listed as the architect of record. No drawings or renderings have been disclosed at this time, however, a masonry exterior is anticipated.
Bus service for CTA Routes 4 and 63 can be found at the 63rd Street & Rhodes stop via a three-minute walk east. The nearest CTA L Green Line can be found at either the Cottage Grove station via a five-minute walk east or the King Drive station via a seven-minute walk west. The Coleman Branch of the Chicago Public Library is under a five-minute walk from the property site. There are restaurants, grocery stores, and retail options all of which are accessible by foot.
Hej Enterprises will also act as the general contractor for the $511,350 construction. A full timeline and an anticipated completion date have not yet been revealed.
