New construction permits were issued this week for a new four-story residential building slated for 4027 S Calumet Avenue in Bronzeville. Marcin Orpik is listed as the owner, and the new four-unit project will come equipped with a roof deck and a detached four-vehicle masonry garage. The parcel is currently vacant.
Victor Drapszo is the listed architect of record. No drawings or renderings have yet been revealed, and it is currently unclear if the design will be frame or masonry.
The closest transit option available to future residents can be found in the form of Route 3 via a four-minute walk southeast to the King Drive & 41st Street stop. There are other bus lines within a 10-minute walk of the property site, including stops for Routes 39 and 43. The nearest access point for the CTA L train is the Indiana station where the Green Line can be boarded. The station is a five-minute walk west.
TM1 Construction Inc will act as the general contractor on the construction, which has a reported construction cost of $1.1 million. An anticipated timeline or completion date has not yet been disclosed.
