A nine-story mixed-use development, known as Platform 4611, can be seen approaching full height at 4611 N Broadway in Uptown. Co-developed by John Buck Company and Free Market Ventures, this 103-foot-tall project stands at the intersection of Broadway & Wilson Avenue. Planned programming includes 12,000 square feet of first-floor retail, split into units between 1,628 and 2,178 square feet. Atop this mercantile component will be 200 for-rent apartment dwellings, ranging from single-bedroom up to three-bedroom residences.
Amenities include a fitness center, a media/gaming room, a co-working space, as well as a rooftop terrace space with grilling stations, a lounge, and Chicago skyline views. There will also be 22 parking spaces and 178 bike spaces.
Given its height in relation to its surroundings, the masonry design by Pappageorge Haymes already stands prominently above the Wilson Station transit hub. The massing is set back on the ninth floor to accommodate the rooftop terrace, and takes on an L-shaped footprint to conform to the dimensions of the parcel. The exterior, meanwhile, involves mixed-color brick facade, stone accents, and a mural on the south-facing side.
Nearby bus transit includes Routes 36, 78, and 81 along the adjacent Broadway & Wilson intersection. Directly west is the aforementioned Wilson CTA L station, with service for the Red and Purple Lines.
James McHugh Construction Co is serving as the general contractor for the $43 million development, with a construction timeline extending into early 2023.
