A permit was approved yesterday for a new two-story residential building to be located at 182 N Lamon Avenue in the Austin neighborhood. The owner is listed as AdamZegarski of A-Z Builders Inc and plans indicate this project will yield three total units, each outfitted with a rear metal porch. Plans also show the presence of three paved outdoor parking spots. The development will replace a vacant lot.
George D. Gazis is listed as the structural engineer of record. No drawings or renderings have yet been disclosed, though the filing description has indicated a masonry exterior.
Future residents will find that the closest bus services available are Routes 54 and 392. Both can be joined at the Cicero & Maypole stop via a two-minute walk east. Those looking to ride the CTA L can catch the Green Line at the Cicero station via a 11-minute walk northeast. There are many dining and retail options within a five-minute walk south along W Madison Street.
A-Z Plus Remodeling Inc will act as the general contractor for the $450,000 construction. A full timeline and an anticipated completion date have not yet been revealed.

Actually building on a vacant lot instead of tearing down a perfectly good building! What a concept!! This I can applaud!
Well-done except for the fact that it is a sizable corner lot and only two stories. This is where a 4 story multi-family building fronting Maypole would be appropriate, like they would have done in pre-war planning. At minimum a 4-flat should occupy the corner.
