Final facade work is underway for 332 N Michigan Avenue, a three-story mixed-use renovation at the northeast in the corner of The Loop. The building was damaged in a fire last year, requiring extensive interior and exterior repairs. Permits to replace the street-facing facade and renovate the inside were issued in November of 2020 under the name 926, LLC.

The sports novelty store Chicago Sports will continue to occupy the first two floors, while the third floor is being converted from office space to a residential unit. This conversion component has been listed under a separate permit that was issued this past March.

Raffi Arzoumanian is the listed architect of record. Current progress shows an upgrade of the old mid-century glass exterior to a more contemporary glass and metal facade.
Given its central location along Michigan Avenue, the venue is close to various buses, including Routes 2, 3, 4, 6, 10, 20, 26, 66, 120, 121, 134, 135, 136, 143, 146, 147, 148, 151, 157, 850, 851, and 855 all within a one-block radius. Meanwhile, those looking to board CTA L trains will find all lines within a 10-minute walk southwest.

James A. Blackmore Construction is the general contractor for the roughly $300,000 project. At least a partial completion appears imminent, given that Chicago Sports’ website indicated a spring 2021 reopening. It is not clear if the new residential component will also open within this timeframe.
