An empty side yard on McLean Avenue in Logan Square will soon be improved with a two-unit residential building courtesy of a new construction permit issued by the city in early January. Slated for 3637 West McLean, the permit shows an application date of July 30, 2025, and it hit the books on January 9 with a reported cost of $425,000.

MK Construction & Builders is both developer and general contractor for the new homes, designed by architect Beata Klak. The two-story frame structure will have a basement and a private roof deck for the second-story occupants, indicating these are likely to be for-sale condominiums. A detached two-car garage, also of frame construction, will be accessed from an alley off McLean Avenue behind Funston Elementary School to the east. A six-foot gated fence is also included in permit specifications.
A property listing on Realtor.com shows a sale of the lot in 2025 for $525,000. The long-vacant parcel sold previously to an LLC for $425,000 back in 2023.
