The steel framework for Bally’s Casino is beginning to take shape along the Chicago River in River West. While the project’s single tower crane takes the hotel structure vertical, three giant Manitowoc crawler cranes are doing the heavy lifting here at the north end of the construction site.

The iron is prominent at the river’s edge, and concrete walls are being formed next to Chicago Avenue. An inclined segment of steel at the east edge of the property mimics the renderings that show sloping segments of the exterior leading to the upper levels.
As was pointed out for the hotel tower, the clock is a factor for the casino building, as Bally’s plans to be up and running by the end of December 2026. That leaves 14 months or so to get a lot of work done, so expect to see rapid progress at both the casino and the hotel over the fall and winter.

The renderings show a riverwalk along the river but the pictures seem to show the ironwork coming almost to the river bank edge. Any sense of whether there will be riverwalk there and how wide it will be from your visit? Thank you
I did not get a sense of that. Might be awhile before that starts to show.
Can’t wait to make some questionable choices here in an inebriated state. The riverwalk looks great nice to walk out after losing some hands.
Losing your hands will make swimming the river much more difficult.
