A renovation project was recently approved on December 18 for a residential property located at 1451 West Cortez Street in West Town. Project work will include basement alterations to create a new dwelling unit, increasing the total number of units for the property from two to three. In addition, the structure’s rear open porch will be replaced.
The reported cost of the project, which is being led by owner Ana Lillian Perez is $300,000. Total fees of $2,401 have been paid, consisting of $1,700 in building fees, $75 in zoning fees, and $626 in other fees. Plans were designed by architect Cristian Nicolaie.
Transit nearby 1451 West Cortez Street includes stops for a number of bus lines, along with CTA Stations servicing the Blue Line.
