The first step in the construction of a new residential tower at 370 North Morgan Street in Fulton Market has been taken, as crews begin demolition of the Fox Deluxe Foods building on the site. Crews from Skender and Heneghan Wrecking started prepping the site at the beginning of the month, and the teardown began immediately. A demo permit for the property was issued by the City of Chicago on the first of October.
We reported Friday about updated renderings and a timeline for the new apartment building, with developer Vista Property Group announcing a first quarter of 2025 start date for the construction. Of course, that means there’s plenty of time to get demolition done on one of the few meat-packing facilities that still stood in the Fulton Market District. Fox Deluxe moved their operations to Wheeling, IL after closing the Fulton Market facility.

All these new apartment buildings in the west loop/fulton market area all look alike-and built with cheap materials inside-what a waste of space.
