Exterior work is nearing completion for a new condominium building coming to 2923 North Southport Avenue in Lake View. The four-story, three-unit project got a new construction permit from the city on January 17. The property sits mid-block just south of the six-point Southport/Lincoln/Wellington intersection. The Pavlovcik Architecture design calls for balconies at the front and back of the building plus a rooftop deck. An attached garage accessed from the rear alley will have parking for three vehicles, and will be joined on the ground level by commercial space at the front, along Southport Avenue. An elevator is also included in the plans. McKinney Group is both the developer and the general contractor.

An 1893-built frame multi-family residential building (addressed as 2921 North Southport) previously on the site received a demolition permit back on January 3, 2023. The permit listed Carlos Group and the demo contractor.

Residents of 2923 North Southport Avenue will be within a three-block walk of three CTA buses, including Routes 9, 76, and 77. The 76 Diversey bus is the shortest walk to connect with an elevated train, via the Diversey Brown/Purple Line platform about three-quarters of a mile southeast.
