A permit for new construction has been issued for a property located at 1842 North Whipple Street in Logan Square. The permit, which was applied for on July 11 and issued on July 31, allows for the construction of a two-story, two-unit residential building with a basement, a rear terrace at the first story, a rear stair to the second story, a rooftop deck with a stair enclosure, and a detached three-car garage with a rooftop deck.
The project will follow the 2019 Chicago Building Code and is self-certified by architect John Hanna. The total fee for the permit is $4,350, with $2,850 paid towards building fees and $1,500 towards zoning fees. The reported cost of the project is $1,096,676. The owner of the property is TSE Enterprises LLC.
When complete, 1842 North Whipple Street will be located a short walk from CTA Stations servicing the Blue Line, along with a number of bus lines.
