A new construction permit has been issued for a property located at 2728 West Lexington Street in Lawndale. The permit, which was issued on May 31, allows for the construction of a new three-story frame building with a basement and three dwelling units. The project also includes a new rear steel porch, new steel front stairs, and a new three-vehicle concrete parking pad.
The self-certified architect for this project is Cesar Santoy. The property owner is listed as Keith Ray, also based in Chicago. The anticipated cost of construction is $190,000. The total permit fees amount to $5,194, with $375 paid upfront and the remaining $4,819 unpaid at the time of issuance.
When complete, the property will be steps from bus service for Routes 7 and 94. It will be a 14-minute walk from the Western CTA station, which services the Blue Line.

Always pleased to see new investment come to Lawndale! There has been a bunch on the other side of the tracks. It’s good to see it move west.
Agreed, these developments are humble but when starting with a vacant lot, a 3 flat literally makes a 3x jump and chips away at restoring fuller urban vitality.
