A new construction permit has been issued for a multi-unit residential building at 4117 South Indiana Avenue in Bronzeville. The permit is reportedly for a three-story, six-dwelling unit building with a rear porch and front terrace at the first story, and rear balconies on the second and third floors. The project also includes three exterior parking spaces on a concrete pad.
The permit was issued on May 17, after a processing time of 29 days. Total fees amounted to $10,219.78, with $1,800.00 paid upfront and $8,419.78 remaining unpaid. The project’s budget is $1,213,020.00, and is being developed by JV OZ, LLC. It was designed by John Hanna.
4117 South Indiana Avenue is located a short walk from stops for the 39 bus line. It is also a short walk from the Indiana CTA Station, which services the Green Line.

  1. I think that the crane-counters forget how critical these kind of small projects are to making Chicago a great city, particularly in underserved neighborhoods. Stitching together the tapestry which makes Chicago a city of interesting neighborhoods is as critical as any skyscraper erected downtown to the city’s vitality and remaining an amazing place to live, work and play.
