A renovation project has been approved for 3426 North Keeler Avenue in Kilbourn Park, with permits issued on January 26. The project, which has a budget of $25,000, is primarily focused on interior renovations, particularly in the kitchen and bathrooms of the two-story, two-dwelling unit masonry building.
Prashanth Mahakali is in charge of the design of the renovation. The general contractor for the project is Impeccable Installations Inc. The building will not undergo any changes in size or volume as a result of work completed, and will retain its original structural footprint.
3426 N Keeler Avenue is located steps from bus service for Route 56, with Routes 53 and 152 via a short walk from the property. Beyond that, the Grayland Metra station, which services the MD North Line Train, is an 11-minute walk to the northwest of the property.

I think the City could benefit from a grant program to help improve HVAC systems for units without central AC. Not only would this improve aesthetics, but it could improve efficiency and reduce heat risk from those most vulnerable.
