The City of Chicago has issued construction permits for a four-story residential building at 4742 South Michigan Avenue in Bronzeville. The self-certified project was approved on January 10 and has a budget of approximately $1,788,541.
The new building plans to house eight dwelling units and include a basement, with four exterior parking spaces laid out on a concrete pad. The building’s design will also include a front terrace and balconies at the rear and front from the first to the fourth story. Architect John Hanna is in charge of the design of the project.
The general contractor for the project is 4 Star Builders Inc. Masonry work will be undertaken by B&K Concrete and BM Builders Group.
4742 S Michigan Avenue will be located steps from bus service for Routes 29 and 47. Beyond that, the 47th CTA station, which services the Red Line, will be an 11-minute walk to the west of the property.
