A new residential building is underway at 1533 W Barry Avenue in Lakeview East. The project, which was submitted for approval on December 13, has an estimated budget of $1,069,980, and was approved on December 29.
This project will involve the construction of a three-story building which will house two dwelling units. The building plans feature a basement, rooftop deck, and a rooftop stair enclosure. Additionally, there will be a rear terrace on the first story, a rear deck with stairs on the second story, and a rear stair leading to the third story. Finally, the property will feature a detached three-vehicle garage, which will also offer a rooftop deck.
The architectural design of the project is led by John Hanna. The general contractor for this project is EZMB LLC. Masonry work is a collaborative effort between Dexco Corporation and The Dream Wall Inc.
1533 W Barry Avenue is located steps from bus stops for Routes 9, X9, and 77. Beyond that, the Paulina CTA station, which services the Brown Line, will be an 11-minute walk to the north of the property, and the Belmont CTA station, which services the Brown, Purple, and Red Lines, will be an 18-minute walk to the east of the property.
