Permit Issued for 2008 W 21st Street in Heart of Chicago

A construction permit has been approved for a residential building at 2008 W 21st Street in Lower West Side’s Heart of Chicago. The new development, registered under the ownership of Mike Fox, will feature a three-story building with six dwelling units, taking the place of what is now a vacant lot.

The project’s architectural design, led by Radule Tepavcevic, includes plans for a new three-story steel porch, front metal stairs, and six parking spaces. Additionally, the design also incorporates a new front and rear metal fence. Visuals of the design such as drawings or renderings have not yet been revealed.

The new residential complex will provide six parking spaces. Public transportation offers both bus Route 50 and Pink Line service at Damen Station, which is less than a one-minute walk northeast.

Stellar Performance, Inc. is the project’s general contractor, with an estimated project cost of $963,000. As of writing, an anticipated completion date for the project has not been announced.

  1. Will this take up the one vacant lot or both (including the now-demolished structure Streetview shows to the west of the vacant lot)?
