The City of Chicago has granted a construction permit for a townhouse development situated at 4717 S Ingleside Avenue in Kenwood. The project, owned by WEMI Properties LLC, will introduce a trio of two-story masonry townhouses, each with a basement and each housing three residential units. This new development will replace a previously vacant plot of land.

The design of the residential complex is overseen by Yu Wei. As per the documents submitted, the townhouses will be masonry and will each be outfitted with a dedicated two-vehicle garage. Furthermore, a new six-foot metal fence will be installed along the two side property lines. Alongside the projected construction timeline, visual clues to its design such as drawings or renderings could not be found.

In terms of transportation, the property is just east of 47th Street & Drexel, which offers bus service for Route 47. Meanwhile, the 47th Street station for the Green Line is an 18-minute walk west.

The principal contractor for the project is Skik Management, Inc.. The reported cost of the construction is reported to be $1,000,000.

  1. This property is in Kenwood, not Hyde Park (northern boundary is 51st Street).
