A demolition permit has been issued for the site of 910 N Ashland Avenue in West Town. This permit allows the removal of a two-story masonry mixed-use building that formerly stood on the 2,775-square-foot lot. The property, last purchased on January 14, 1981, for $16,000, is owned by Khaled Suleiman.
At present, no plans for future developments on the site have been shared. The demolished structure, comprised of two units, had a masonry exterior and was in an average physical condition. The lot, zoned as B1, allows for both single-family and commercial developments.
The property provides easy access to transit options. The nearest CTA L service is the Blue Line at Division station, roughly an eight-minute walk north from the property. Bus service for Routes 9 and 9X is available at the Ashland & Chicago stop, a short walk to the south. Additionally, the property is close to numerous dining and retail options along W Chicago Avenue.
The demolition of the existing structure is estimated to cost $16,000, with Master Guys Construction as the listed general contractor. The timeline for the completion of the demolition remains unannounced.
