A construction permit has recently been approved for a new residential development at 2254 W North Avenue in Wicker Park. Volo Holdings LLC is the developer behind the project, which will consist of a four-story building with six residential units, a ground-floor office space, a rooftop deck, a rooftop stair enclosure, and a three-vehicle garage on the first floor. The project is set to replace a narrow, vacant grass lot.
Hanna Architects is behind the design, which will include front decks on the second, third, and fourth stories, a six-foot high masonry trash enclosure, and an elevator penthouse. No drawings or renderings have been posted.
The closest public transportation within walking distance is bus service for Route 72, just several paces from the site. Additional bus lines within a 10-minute walk include Routes 49 and X49 to the west and along with Routes 50 and 56 to the east. Those looking to board CTA L trains will find the Blue Line at Damen station via an eight-minute walk east.
Diamond Partnership LLC, is the general contractor for the project, with a reported construction cost of $3,025,050. An estimated completion date has not been announced.
