A construction permit has been granted for a new residential development located at 1906 N Halsted Street in Lincoln Park. The project, owned by Barrett Homes, will give rise to a three-story, two-flat building with a basement. The construction will replace a single-story retail building that had previously occupied the site.
The architect of record for the project is 360 Design Studio. Based on the submitted filing, the new development will feature a variety of outdoor spaces, including a rooftop deck with a frame pergola, and covered open decks on the first and second floors. The building will also have a masonry detached garage with a rooftop deck, pergola, and rooftop access stair. The garage will provide two on-site parking spaces.
Transit accessibility includes nearby bus service for Routes 8, 9, 72, and 73, all of which are within a 10-minute walk. The nearest CTA L services are available at the Armitage stop, which is an eight-minute walk to the northwest. This stop services the Brown and Purple Lines.
The general contractor for the project is Barrett Homes, LLC, with a reported construction cost of $821,920, according to the filing. An estimated completion date has not been announced.
