Library Renovation Receives Permit for SAIC at 37 S Wabash in the Loop

A renovation permit has been granted for a new renovation at 37 S Wabash Avenue in The Loop. The project, owned by the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), will feature a makeover of its fifth-floor library.

The architect for the project is the firm Kwong Von Glinow, with design details focusing on creating a more open and inviting space, incorporating natural lighting, energy-efficient systems, and state-of-the-art technology for students and faculty. The renovation will also include new study areas, collaborative spaces, and updated amenities to better serve the SAIC community.

The general contractor for the project is M. A. Mortenson Construction, with a reported construction cost of $5 million. No estimated completion date has been announced.
