A permit was issued on Tuesday for a new three-story residential building at 5432 S Michigan Avenue in the Washington Park neighborhood. The owner is listed as KPG Chicago LLC and plans indicate this project will yield three dwelling units. The second and third floors are each outfitted with open porches at the rear. The first floor will feature a concrete patio. Plans also show the presence of a detached three-vehicle garage. The development will replace a vacant lot.
Charles E Schwartz is listed as the architect of record. While there aren’t any further details or renderings publically available at this time, the permit does indicate the presence of masonry contractors.
Transportation is readily available with the nearest bus service available for Route 29 at the State & 58th Street stop via a four-minute walk west. The CTA Green Line can also be accessed at the Garfield station via a 13-minute walk northeast. There are many retail, dining, and lodging options in the vicinity, many of which are located within walking distance along 58th Street.
Metropole Holdings LLC will act as the general contractor for the $380,000 construction. A full timeline and an anticipated completion date have not yet been revealed.
