A new construction permit was issued on Tuesday for a three-story residential building located at 4129 S Wabash Avenue in the Grand Boulevard neighborhood. The owner of the permit is listed as 4123 S Wabash LLC, and current plans indicate this project will produce three total units. This will be a masonry build and will have open metal porches at the rear, as well as a six-foot-tall wooden fencing and three parking spots. The building will replace a vacant lot.

George Grazis is listed as the structural engineer on this project. Renderings are not available at this time.

The closest bus service available is Route 43 which can be found at 43rd Street & Michigan via a five-minute walk south. The CTA Green Line can be accessed at the 43rd station via a 10-minute walk east.

There are retail and restaurant spaces in the vicinity of the property. Many of which are located within a few minutes walk southwest along W 43rd Street. There are more options east along S State Street.

Loshi Nako will act as the general contractor for the $450,000 construction. A full timeline and an anticipated completion date have not yet been revealed.

Are there any “after” pictures for all these vacant lot fill-ins in Woodlawn/Grand Boulevard and other southshore neighborhoods? There seems to be a lot of development and I’m curious if they are similar to what goes up on in like North Center/Lake View.
