Initial brickwork can be seen for a five-story residential building located at 120 N Willard Court, just south of the Randolph Street commercial corridor in West Loop. The development will replace a pre-Chicago Fire single-family residence, which received demolition permits last December.
The site of this former mid-19th-century structure is owned and developed by PLD Custom Homes. The new construction will yield seven dwelling units and a seven-car parking garage in its base. Though details have not been revealed about the unit types or specs, an article by Urbanize Chicago had indicated the likelihood of condominiums.
360 Design Studio is the project architect. While it is clear the structure will have a red brick masonry, no updated designs or renderings could be found. There was a zoning resolution last October allowing for residential use below the second level.
Beyond the on-site parking, there will be various nearby transit options such as Divvy bike stations, bus transit for Routes 8, 9, X9, and 20, as well as Green and Pink Line service in under a 10-minute walk to Morgan station.
Promised Land Development is serving as general contractor for approximately $2.8 million build. No details regarding a timeline have been revealed.
