A permit was approved yesterday for a new two-story residential building at 1740 W 17th Street in the Lower West Side neighborhood. The owner is listed as Cornel Contac, and the current plans indicate this project will yield three total dwelling units. The building will feature a finished basement, rooftop deck with a stair enclosure, and a rear two-story porch. Per plans, the project will also feature a parking pad. The planned structure will replace an existing building.

Eduard Livanu is listed as the architect of record. At the time of this writing, no drawings or renderings have been disclosed. However, the plans indicate masonry contractors.

Future residents can readily access the CTA L Pink line at the 18th Street station which is a three-minute walk southeast. The closest bus service available is Route 18 and can be found at 18th Street & Wood via a two-minute walk southwest. There is an abundance of retail and dining options steps away from the planned project along 18th Street.

Concorp Remodeling Inc will act as the general contractor for the $450,000 construction. A full timeline and an anticipated completion date have not yet been revealed.
