Construction is a go for a three-story residential building developed by Kalos Group Development LLC, set to replace a vacant lot at 5205 S Wabash Avenue in Washington Park. The new project will house three total units, as well as a rear three-car concrete parking pad.

While no renderings have been made available, the filing description indicates a masonry design. Charles E Schwartz is listed as the architect of record.

Transit options include east and westbound stops for Route 15, a three-minute walk north to 51st Street & Wabash. North and southbound service for Route 29 is also nearby, via a three-minute walk southwest to State & 53rd Street.

Those looking the board the CTA L Green Line can board trains at 51st station via a nine-minute walk northeast. Red Line service is a 15-minute walk southwest to Garfield station.

The western end of the neighborhood’s namesake Washington Park is a 13-minute walk southeast. This 366-acre space provides expansive green space, sports fields, a lagoon, an arboretum, multiple playgrounds, and various other recreational venues.

Metropole Holdings LLC is the general contractor behind the reportedly $350,000 development. No completion timeline has yet been indicated.
