Construction is imminent on a mixed-use development at 2406 W Armitage Avenue in Logan Square. Located at the intersection of W Armitage Avenue and N Western Avenue, the corner property is currently occupied by a vacant one-story bank building. Advent Properties LLC is the developer behind the project.
Designed by Hanna Architects, the new construction will consist of a five-story mixed-use building. Rising approximately 60 feet, the structure will hold 20 residential units with ground-floor retail space. Additionally, 13 parking spaces will be located on the ground floor as well as bike storage.
The edifice will be clad with brick masonry framing the structure, with metal siding as infill. Windows will be introduced with a punched opening expression. Balconies will be integrated into the eastern facade facing N Western Avenue, with rear balconies hanging off the western elevation. The residential entry will be accessed from W Armitage Avenue.
The development is a by-right project, requiring no city oversight or approvals to move forward. Demolition permits for the existing bank building have been issued, and permits for the new construction have been filed. With these milestones achieved, construction is expected to commence soon. A timeline for the completion has not been announced.
