Permits have been issued for a three-story residential building set for 319 S Washtenaw Avenue in East Garfield Park. Set to replace a currently vacant lot, the project is being developed by KPG Chicago LLC, whose plans include three total units, a rear steel staircase, and a three-car parking pad.
Charles Schwartz is the architect of record. No drawings or renderings have yet been published, though the filing description has indicated a masonry facade.
For nearest transportation, future residents will find east and westbound stops for Route 126 located a minute’s walk north to Jackson & Washtenaw. Additional transit in the vicinity includes Route 94, a three-minute walk northwest. Those wishing to board Route 7 will find stops at Harrison & California, an eight-minute walk southwest.
For CTA L transit, Blue Line service lies within a 10-minute walk southeast at Western station. The Green Line’s California station is also in the area, available via a 13-minute walk northwest.
Residents will also have access to various outdoor venues within a 10-minute walking radius, including Altgeld Park to the south and Park 574, Park 489, Rockwell Park, and Sain Park all to the northeast.
Metropole Holdings LLC is general contractor for the $350,000 construction. Details regarding a completion date could not be found.
