Construction permits have been issued for a new three-story residential building located at 5540 W Edmunds Street in Jefferson Park. The owner Wojciech Lejman is planning four total units, as well as a rooftop deck and four on-site parking spaces.
Paul Ozga is serving as the architect of record. No drawings or renderings have yet been revealed, and it is unclear if the structure will be frame or masonry.
The site lies in the midst of several bus transportation options, including Routes 85 and 88 located at the intersection of Edmunds, Higgens & Central, a two-minute walk southwest. Other stops in the vicinity can be found for Routes 225, 226, and 270 to the north, Routes 68, 85A, and 92 to the northeast, and Routes 56 and 81 to the east, 81W and 91 to the south.
Residents wishing to access the CTA L can find nearest service at the Blue Line’s Jefferson Park station, located a five-minute walk northeast.
Nearest outdoor access includes the SRB Community Spirit Garden, a two-minute walk southwest as well as the seven-acre Jefferson Park, a six-minute walk southeast. Also within a roughly 10-minute walk is Roberts Square Park to the northeast and Wilson Park to the southeast.
WL Management LLC is the general contractor behind the $1 million project. A completion date has not yet been revealed.
