Permits have been issued for a three-story residential building located at 4420 S Prairie Avenue in the Bronzeville neighborhood. The listed owner Vincent Keane plans three total units as well as a three-car garage. The new development will replace a vacant lot just south of the Prairie & 44th Street intersection.
Michael Ryan is serving as the architect, whose design has not yet had drawings or renderings published. It is also unclear if the structure will be masonry or frame.
Nearest transportation includes both north and southbound stops for bus Route 3, located a four-minute walk northeast to King Drive & 44th. Other nearby buses within a 10-minute walk include Route 43 to the north, Route 29 to the west, and Route 47 to the south. CTA L service for the Green Line is accessible via a four-minute walk northeast to 43rd station. Those wishing to board the Red Line can find its nearest 47th Ave station via a 19-minute walk southwest.
Future residents will be in close proximity to Hadiya Pendleton Park, a three-minute walk northeast. Smaller parks like Jackson Playground Park and Birch Park are also nearby, located to the northwest and southeast respectively.
Campus Construction Inc is the general contractor for the reportedly $150,000 project. A full timeline has not yet been announced.
