Construction permits have been issued for a three-story residential building located at 1243 S Fairfield Avenue in North Lawndale. The listed owner East Douglas Partners LLC, is planning three total units, as well as a three-car parking pad.

Stern Group Architects LLC is the architect of record. While no drawings or renderings have yet been revealed, multiple masonry contractors indicate what will likely be a stone or brick exterior.

The property lies in the midst of multiple bus routes. Both the north and southbound Route 93 and east and westbound Route 12 are accessible via the Roosevelt & California intersection, less than a three-minute walk northwest. Further bus access for Routes 18 and 157 is available via Ogden & Washtenaw, a five-minute walk south.

Those wishing to access the CTA L can find nearest Pink Line service at California station, a 17-minute walk south. Additional availability includes the Blue Line’s Western station via a 23-minute walk northeast.

Future residents will have a breadth of outdoor access in close proximity, with the 173-acre Douglass Park less than a two-minute walk west. Within this space are also North Lawndale High School and Collins Academy High School.

Fargo Group LLC is the general contractor for the $325,000 project. No completion timeline has yet been announced.
