Permits have been issued for a three-story residential building at 3713 S Giles Avenue in the Douglas neighborhood, near Aldine Square.
The site is located just northeast of Anderson (Louis) Park and adjacently east of Mayo Elementary School and Ida B. Wells Preparatory Elementary School. Bus transit includes a three-minute walk east to the King Drive & 37th Street stop for route 3, and a five-minute walk south to the Pershing & Giles stop for route 39. The CTA L Green Line also stops nearby at Indiana station, a 10-minute walk southwest.
Developer Vandersea Enterprises is planning three residential units within the building, as well as a detached three-car garage. Charles E Schwartz is the Chicago-based architect of record. 3713 S Giles Avenue will be a masonry-clad building according to the permit filing details.
C & S General Contractors will serve as the general contractor for the $350,000 project. No further information regarding the timeline or completion date has been released.
