The University of Illinois Chicago’s new Computer Design Research and Learning Center continues to make significant progress, with its steel frame now at full height. Located at 900 W Taylor Street at the southern end of the main campus in Little Italy, the five-story addition will be adjacent to the existing Science and Engineering Labs building.

The basement level of the University of Illinois Chicago’s new computer science building can be seen taking shape at 900 W Taylor Street in Little Italy. The five-story structure, known as the Computer Design Research and Learning Center, will attach to UIC’s existing Science and Engineering Labs building while adding 135,000 square feet of new programming.
Remaining exterior touches and landscaping are now underway for the six-story medical facility known as the UI Health Outpatient Surgery Center and Specialty Clinics. Replacing a formerly vacant lot at 900 W Taylor Street, the new structure is located directly south of the hospital’s main building in the Illinois Medical District.
