A long-vacant lot in the 2700 block of West Adams Street in East Garfield Park has been permitted for a new three-flat residential building. The permit for 2713 West Adams, issued on Friday, October 30, names Franklin Abel as the property owner who applied for a permit in September. Permission was granted after a 44-day wait in the Chicago Data Portal. Its reported cost is $450,000.

The permit calls for a three-story building with three dwelling units. There will be stairs in front and a rear two-story porch connected by a stairway. Three surface parking spaces will be included at the back of the lot off the alley accessed from South Washtenaw Avenue. Peter Sterniuk is designated as the architect of record, with Keos Realty LLC handling general contracting duties. Those two have teamed up on several projects around the city; this is the first mention in the data portal for this property owner. It is not known if the new units will be offered as rental apartments, for-sale condos, or if the building will be sold as a whole for a new owner to rent out to tenants.
