Permits have been issued for a three-story residential building at 924 N Wood Street in West Town’s East Village neighborhood. Filed under 924 N Wood Corp, the owner plans three total units, a basement, a four-story rear metal porch, an open terrace on the first floor, and a rooftop deck and enclosure.
Beata K. Klak is the architect of record. No drawings or renderings of the proposed design could be found, though the permit description has indicated that the new building will be masonry.
Transportation options will include a metal carport with three spaces in the rear. Nearest bus transit consists of east and westbound stops for Route 66 via a four-minute walk south. Additional service within a 15-minute walk include Route 50 to the west, Route 70 to the north, Route 56 to the northeast, Route 9 to the east, and Route X9 to the southeast.
For the CTA L, nearest Blue Line service lies a 13-minute walk northeast to Division station, while nearest service for the Green and Pink Lines can be found a 23-minute walk southeast to Ashland station.
Future residents will find multiple outdoor venues in close proximity, including Honore Palmer Park a block west and Commercial Club Park a three-minute walk southwest.
PCH Construction Company is the general contractor for the $355,000 project, whose full construction timeline is not yet known.
