Exterior work is nearing completion as The Anderson prepares for its grand opening in May at 4713 North Clark Street in the Uptown neighborhood. There was progress on balconies past week, but the more noticeable efforts were on the garage portion of the building off the alley in the back. It appears they got all brickwork done, with the installation of overhead doors coming soon.

The Anderson is the new development name used by Root Realty as they market the apartments. The five-story building has 36 of them, with rents starting at $2,095 for one-bedroom units and $2,950 for two-bed layouts, with availability beginning on May 1. The garage will hold 18 spaces for those who need to store a car. There are inset corner terraces on the west and south facades, with suspended balconies in the rear facing east.

Platinum Homes is the developer and general contractor, erecting a project created by 360 Design Studio. The property is located on the northeast corner of North Clark Street and West Leland Avenue, formerly home of a Byline Bank branch demolished more than three years ago. They got a permit to begin construction on January 6 of last year, and put shovels in the ground shortly thereafter. Now, they’re just six weeks for welcoming their first tenants.

Public transit options include the Route 22 bus, which stops right outside the residential lobby, at Leland and Clark. One block south, at Clark and Wilson, are stops for Routes 22 and 78. The 78 bus can be used to connect to the Wilson Red/Purple Line platform about half a mile east. The recently-rerouted Route 9 bus stops two blocks awat at Ashland and Wilson Avenues.

Very nice!
looks nice but the limestone accents above the windows are off-putting, they need to extend past the widow to mimic true window lintels
Where’s the cornice??
It ain’t much, but that final detail would make the rest of the design more cohesive. The top edge feels too naked without. Maybe they aren’t done?
