Bally’s Hotel Tower Makes Its First Tower Crane Jump

Bally's Casino hotel tower crane jump November 2025The Bally's Hotel tower crane grew noticeably taller over the weekend.

The first of three tower crane jumps is in the books at the Bally’s Casino hotel tower in River West. Over the weekend, a crew from Central Contractors Service delivered six new five-meter sections to the site. Saturday, they anchored the tie-in and started adding segments.

By late Sunday morning, the task was complete and all six sections were in place. So smooth was the operation that your photographer didn’t arrive on time to capture images of any of the process.

Concrete contractor McHugh Concrete—remember, the concrete contractor is in charge of the tower crane— and general contractor Chicago Community Builders Collective have two more tower crane tie-ins permitted; all three of them were issued in one fell swoop on November 13.

Below, some photos taken just after the jump was complete, with the crew still atop the tower finishing the job. From the Brown Line on my way to the site, saw the final segment as it was ready to slide into place, but the camera wasn’t at the ready, and I didn’t get to the river in time to see any action:

I looked yesterday and it appears that the casino has topped out, and they have already started to bag the first floor. You can see in your pics that the casino was not topped out as of Sunday.

  2. Very nice, thank you for sharing!

  3. Don’t worry, we still appreciate your pictures! ☺️
