A new construction permit has been issued for a four-story, three-unit residential building with a basement at 2307 West Foster Avenue in Lincoln Square. The property, when complete, will feature front decks on each floor, a rear stair, a rooftop deck, and a rooftop stair enclosure. In addition, it will feature a detached two-vehicle garage with a rooftop deck.
The permit has been conditionally approved pending the release of a full wrecking permit. Fees totaling $6,830.07 have been assessed, with $1,800 paid so far and $5,030.07 still unpaid.
Plans were designed by architect John Hanna. Construction, led by DV Development LLC, is projected to cost $1,713,000.

Bye-bye little worker’s cottage. Make way for Profit. Sigh.
AND make way for some unit density offset for the 8 million 2-flat deconversions in Lincoln Square over the past couple decades.
The interior MLS photos show there was no historic charm left on the inside. But it’s real shame the structure itself couldn’t be saved (maybe moved?)
Front balconies? In Chicago? Groundbreaking.
Good. We need the density and we need the tax base. Living things evolve.
