220 North Ada, the residential tower in Chicago’s Fulton Market District, has topped out. The announcement was made by general contractor Clayco on their Linkedin account last week.
Clayco, along with concrete contractor Adjustable Concrete, broke ground on the tower in March of this year. Designed by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, the 29-story, 314-foot-tall building will deliver 308 rental apartments. The unit breakdown includes studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom floor plans, plus nine penthouse apartments. Sixty-two units will be set aside as affordable.
CRG, Shapack Partners, and KMW Communities are working together as developers, and are targeting an early 2026 opening date. The tower includes over 12,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor, a parking podium on the second and third levels containing 115 spaces, and a fourth-level resident amenity level. There will also be storage space for 58 bicycles.
Residents of 220 North Ada will live within a four-block walk of the Ashland Green/Pink Line platform at Lake Street and Ashland Avenue, where they will also be able to access Routes 9 and X9 buses. The Route 20 bus runs east-west along Madison Street about four blocks to the south.
