A permit for new construction has been issued for a property located at 1837 North Monticello Avenue in Logan Square. The permit, which was applied for on June 3 and issued on August 2, allows for the construction of a new two-story, two-unit residential frame building with an open rear wood deck, and a three-car concrete parking pad.
The total fee for the permit is $4,016, with $2,300 paid towards building fees, $150 towards zoning fees, and $1,566 towards other fees. The reported cost of the project is $400,000.
The owner of the property is Cecil Slaven. They are working alongside architect Charles Schwartz. When complete, the property will be within a short walk of several bus lines, including the 73 and 82 lines.

It’s West of Humboldt Boulevard, traditionally considered well within Humboldt Park.
